About
the Candidate - Trey
Fleming was raised in Houston, Texas and graduated
from high school and college in Dallas (Duncanville
and UT Arlington, respectively). Trey was
active in Republican politics throughout college
and worked in 1997 as the Grassroots Director
for a U.S. Congressional campaign in Dallas.
He later moved into the private sector with
Whitaker Consulting and relocated to Austin,
Texas, in 1999 to manage their Austin office.
It was in Austin that he first became involved
with the Democratic Party. While with The
Whitaker Companies, Trey was given the awards
of Rookie of the Year and Employee of the
Year (Whitaker Way).
In
2001, Trey relocated to Houston and
joined Computer
Sciences Corporation. He worked with CSC
until 2005, when he left to join Capgemini
(formerly
Ernst & Young Consulting). Since joining
Capgemini, Trey has won the title of Sales
Executive of the Year (2006) and is a member
of the Platinum Club for 2007. He has also
attended Utilities Sector training in Chantilly,
France, and Competitive Intelligence training
at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad,
India. Most recently, Trey served as the
Chairman
for the 2007 Consular Business Forum honoring
the Federal Republic of Germany and focused
on the theme of Energy Efficiency in Texas.
He
grew up the son of parents who took
a shot at the
American dream by owning their own restaurant
in Conroe. While the family business
was short-lived,
the work ethic and family bond it created
was not. His mother has been with Child
Protective
Services in Dallas County for over 20 years
and has been instrumental
in
the commitment Trey has to child welfare
in Texas.
Trey
is a fourth-generation Texan living in Cy-Fair
and has a wonderful 3-year old daughter. He
is a member of The Foundry United Methodist
Church.
